Party's Over

Today marks the end of a long stretch of time that C had off from work for the holidays. Almost three whole weeks. This was a blessing and a curse. No, not really a curse, but it sure is hard to send him off to work once again after finally getting used to having him around! It does take me a while to get used to 24/7 C! ;-) And with the holiday stress, the sickness induced stress, and the getting used to C stress, it was a rough start to what was supposed to be a great time with C home. But we worked it out and now we are in our full partnership roles and working together so nicely and enjoying each other's company so much, I am sad to send him off again.

We know this is not a normal, average marriage/living-working arrangement, but it works for us. I enjoy having time for myself and the girls don't mind him being gone too much. He is fully here for us when he is home, so that lessens the blow of him being gone. The hardest part for him, besides the drive, is missing the girls. He and I do fine away from each other. As we told each other this time, as long as the love is there, we don't need the physical presence. It makes the reunion so much better. No taking each other for granted!

So, we will spend this last day enjoying our man before we become an estrogen ruled household once again. He works so hard for us, and is so good to us when he gets to be here, I just wanted to say a little something to let him know how important and special he is to us. Right here in "public" to be sure to embarrass him a little! ;-)

The party is over. It's back to the grind. But I want him to know that I love him more than ever and I appreciate all the things he sacrifices for us and how hard he works to provide for us. We couldn't do it without him! And we wait with open arms for the day he can return to us....

these are such lovely sentiments, and largely mirror our month of December with husband/daddy in town and now heading off again. Except that Helena does mind her daddy being away, A LOT....just trying to love her and support her through it.

Well said. "Normal" and "average" and "typical" and all words like that are meaningless. What works for you is what works for you. Enjoy it!

I hear you. We always have a transition time when we are switching routines and Stone is home all the time. Then we love the routine and then it changes again.

Thus is life ;-)

Glad you guys are feeling better.

I'm just getting into the swing of things with Justin home. He's just getting used to our routines (and needs for a QUIET morning routine!). We're looking forward to reworking our dynamics in the coming months.
